The Mekong is an unusual river due to its morphology and behaviour. A study of the Mekong River and its basin should explore its source-to-the sea physical characteristics, examine the different expectation of a number of stakeholders, and discuss the potential of adapting suitable management techniques which, as described by the MRC, are politically correct, socially just, and environmentally sound.
