Like a well dressed matador, the Crimson Tide narrowly escapes the Bulls.
After a tough Alabama-South Florida football game, Nick Saban says the team did one thing well among Ty Simpson, Jalen Milroe QB controversy.
Alabama started quarterback Jalen Milroe in the opener Saturday night against Middle Tennessee State. Milroe emerged from a three-man battle in fall camp to at least win the first-game nod, beating out Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner and former five-star recruit Ty Simpson. Milroe spent last season as backup to Bryce Young, who went on to be the first overall NFL draft pick.
Jalen Milroe turned a bad snap into an improbable touchdown run. Milroe threw three long touchdown passes and ran for a pair of scores, including one where he turned a potentially huge loss into a dash to the end zone, to lead No. 4 Alabama to a 56-7 season-opening victory over Middle Tennessee State on Saturday night. Milroe emerged on top of a three-man battle to replace Bryce Young in fall camp for the Crimson Tide, and delivered big plays and no costly mistakes in his second career start.
