A decision regarding the future of Powerhouse Ultimo is drawing closer, with Infrastructure NSW putting plans on show designed by the likes of Architectus, Durbach Block Jaggers, and Tyrell Studio to the public.
The Public Service Association (PSA) has pleaded with the NSW Government to provide clarity on palms for Powerhouse Ultimo, with plans currently in place to close the institution indefinitely this weekend.
In line with other cost cutting measures, the NSW Government has scrapped the Powerhouse Ultimo renewal, instead opting for a $250 million facelift of the current facility.
This week, the newly minted Minn's government scrapped the proposal for a $500m replacement building at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum in favor of spending half that amount on a refurbishment instead, and the other half is slated for ‘schools and hospitals’ (echoing cri de coeur from Bob Carr days).
