Fernando has ordered intensified preventive measures against dengue due to a significant increase in the number of cases in the province. Data from the Provincial Health Office-Public Health (PHO-PH) showed that the total number of cases of dengue in the province from January to June 11, 2022 was 2,737 or 54 percent higher compared to the same period last year. Most of the reported cases, the PHO-PH said, were from the age bracket of 11 to 20 years old. Among the municipalities with the highest number of dengue cases are San Miguel with 687 cases; San Ildefonso, 215; Santa Maria, 172; Plaridel, 83; and Angat, 73.
