'I wanted to look fab in my gym kit at 60, so I lost three stone'
I was 57 and could see 60 on the horizon. Staring at myself in the mirror, all I could see was just another woman fading into obscurity, living a life of “quiet desperation”. We moan about being wolf-whistled in our youth, but a totally disinterested silence is far worse, trust me. I felt uncomfortable in everything I wore, I was lethargic and just “coping” with life, hardly waking up and grabbing life.
