Railways Asked To Pay Rs4.60 Lakh for Negligence and Deficiency of Service Leading to a Theft
While dismissing a revision petition and upholding orders passed by fora below, the national consumer disputes redressal commission (NCDRC) directed Indian Railways to pay Rs4 lakh, the value of the stolen goods along with interest at 9%pa (per annum), Rs50,000 towards mental and physical harassment and Rs10,000 litigation expenses.
