Over the past few years, the PMC has drawn flak over its failure to handle monsoon-related situations such as water logging on roads, flooding in low line area, falling of trees on roads and houses.

Every monsoon, several key roads in the city witness heavy traffic jams especially on days that have heavy rains and during the peak hours of the day. These jams are attributed to waterlogging, ongoing public works, damaged sewage systems, malfunctioning of traffic signals and encroachments.

If cleaning work is not complete in an area, residents should take photographs and send them along with their GPS location to the disaster management officers, the municipal commissioner said.
