A woman s body was stuck in a hearse for four hours after it was removed from her home due to the funeral industry shutdown.
This came after an Avbob Funeral Parlour hearse carrying the body was stopped by protesting members of the Unification Task Team (UTT) that has been leading the shutdown since Monday.

Operations at some Home Affairs branches, including in KwaZulu-Natal, have been disrupted as a protest by some funeral practitioners continues.

Undertakers, under the banner of the Unification Task Team, want the department to amend regulations to allow them to register deaths on behalf of families.
They delivered a list of demands to the department s head office in Pretoria on Tuesday. 
UTT spokesperson Muzi Hlengwa says they want permanent permits that will allow them to remove the bodies from hospitals and mortuaries.
Until they grant us that permanent one, until they issue a correct circular that they are supposed to be issuing, we will shut them down.  ....

UNDERTAKERS VOW TO SHUT DOWN HOME AFFAIRS

UNDERTAKERS affiliated to the Unification Task Team of the Funeral Industry (UTT) have threatened to shut down the offices of Home Affairs nationwide.
UTT made the threats on Tuesday, 11 May saying if all theirs demands were not met they’d go ahead with their threat on Wednesday, 12 May.
Among their grievances was that funeral parlours should be allowed to rent storage space from each other and that the red tape is sorted out to help start-up parlours succeed.
The undertakers want certificates of competence not to form part of the designation number training and examination requirements. ....
