Australian organisations including Amnesty International, Oxfam Australia, Save the Children, Plan International Australia, ActionAid, Muslim Aid Australia, APHEDA-UnionAid Abroad, Australian Palestinian Advocacy Network (APAN), the Australian Council for International Development, Australian Council for International Development and Trade Unionists for Palestine are supporting the global call for an end to the transfer of arms to Israel. 

Students Against War (S.A.W.) and Stop War on Palestine organised a snap rally on Thursday 4 April at the Sydney office of Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in response to the death of an Australian aid worker in Gaza, Lalzawmi ‘Zomi’ Frankcom. Zomi was amongst seven World Central Kitchen workers killed in their convoy by an Israeli military air strike, announced on April 2.

Gaza continues to be the deadliest place for civilians in the world, with more than 18,000 people - including over 7,000 children - killed in the last two months according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.

A packed public gallery at Sydney's Inner West Council meeting went from aghast to angry after a mild Greens motion calling for a ceasefire in Palestine was rejected by Labor’s casting vote. Pip Hinman reports.
