March 4, 2021
EC spokesperson Paul Bukenya
In an attempt to counter what it calls fake news , the Electoral Commission (EC) has released the declaration form from Anyang polling station in Padyere county, Nebbi district.
However, the figures on the declaration form don’t add up and contradict what is on its tally sheet. The declaration form tweeted by EC shows that 323 votes were cast at that polling station yet after totalling the votes that candidates got and the invalid votes; the figure comes to 247 votes. This gives a difference of 76 votes.
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate, Patrick Amuriat got 6 votes, while independent candidates Nancy Kalembe and John Katumba got one vote each. National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine garnered 8 votes, Fred Mwesigye and Mugisha Muntu got 4 votes each, Henry Tumukunde got 2 votes and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) got 198 votes.   ....

He says that his properties, including vehicles, have been unlawfully impounded or retained by the government.
He cited a motor vehicle registration number UAT 416K (Tundra) which has been parked at Arua Central police station since 2018. The said car was impounded by police following a fracas in the Arua Municipality by-election where Kyagulanyi’s driver Yasin Kawuma was shot dead by th ....

Summary
In 2011, four-time presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye declared a defiance campaign to challenge what he called the government’s repressive actions and urged the population into the “Walk to Work” campaign, which was ostensibly rallying people to walk to workplaces in disapproval of rising fuel prices in the country at that time.

National Unity Platform (NUP) party leader Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, yesterday reportedly suggested to councillors and mayors who subscribe to his party that he would opt for defiance activities to challenge President Museveni’s government, Daily Monitor has learnt.
Sources, who attended the meeting at Mr Kyagulanyi’s home in Magere, Wakiso District, however, told Daily Monitor that Bobi Wine was not categorical on the decision for a defiance campaign, but used proverbs throughout his address that pointed to that.  ....
