Sensex, Nifty open with mild gains in Saturday's special trading session

Deepak Shenoy remains optimistic on India's overall story and cautious on exports and FMCG sectors. He emphasizes the importance of clarity before reinvesting and discusses potential sectors for upcoming investments, awaiting March quarter results for further decisions. Shenoy further says he has moved out of the cable and wire sector.
Any declines towards 44,500 is a buying opportunity for Bank Nifty. So, both of the indices are looking quite robust and on the way towards making fresh lifetime high.
Market sentiment has been hit since the hawkish remarks on inflation by the Reserve Bank of India, and this got further dampened by the US Federal Reserves view that interest rates may need to harden further to bring down inflation.
Among broader indices, BSE Small-cap index ended on a flat note, while BSE Large-cap Index fell 0.7 percent and Mid-cap Index shed 0.5 percent.
