Observation: Data provided by Delhi Traffic Police reveals that nearly half of the vehicles responsible for fatal accidents in the city last year were never identified. The majority of these vehicles were registered in Delhi itself. Unknown vehicles accounted for 47% of the fatalities, followed by cars/taxis (14%), heavy transport vehicles (12%), and two-wheelers (10%). Private cars, goods carriers, and two-wheelers were also significant contributors to accidents. The data helps identify patterns and trends in road crashes, according to SS Yadav, a special commissioner of police.
