To go, there really is no narrative for us that looks like success in the eyes of the rest of the world unless gadhafi does go. and what i see if you end up with a stalemate, you have other states that will begin dealing with gadhafi. brazil, india, turkey. all of these countries could very easily begin dealing with him economically with a stalemate in place. so i think that would look like a real loss for the united states and we need to be careful, we need to define what end state we need to go, it looks to look principled and about supporting the aspirations of the people of libya. but in my mind, that s not consistent with moammar gadhafi staying in power. but the stated directive and the objective was to establish a no fly zone. that in effect has been done. so is it disingenuous saying there s not another addendum saying we want gadhafi to go? ....
