A MAN who spat in the face of a Southampton police officer has been jailed. Neil Jordan Brake spat into the face of the officer after being warned by the police Sargent on January 6 this year. The court heard how the 23-year-old carried out a "disgusting offence" and that crimes of this manner would "not be tolerated". Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting an emergency working by beating. Brake, of Patrick Haugh Road in Upper Arncott, Oxfordshire, was committed to prison for 18 weeks and ordered to pay £100 compensation. Comments ...

VILLAGERS have hit out after their bus services into Bicester were cut significantly. Stagecoach is making changes to its Bicester-to-Oxford S5 route which serves Langford, Launton, Ambrosden and Bullingdon Prison in Arncott. It published a new timetable starting on December 4 with the service no longer extending to Langford and Launton. Just three S5 journeys would extend to Ambrosden on a Sunday, with the final two also extending to/from Bullingdon.
