A Normal Town Council member says the latest proposal for the Trail East and Trail West sites in Uptown Normal is a “fundamentally different project” than its scuttled predecessor and will better meet the needs of the community because it includes more apartment space.

Town of Normal staff have recommended the council choose an Iowa development company to build the $50-60 million Trail East and Trail West projects in Uptown.
"The monumental part is acknowledging the need to celebrate — especially in this current climate that we're living through," ISU Queer Coalition co-president Byron Craig said ahead of the event.
