A woman died and a police officer was injured after a car hit a Winston-Salem Police Department patrol vehicle on U.S. 52, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to police, this happened Sunday night on U.S. 52 southbound, north of Exit 115 at University Parkway at 7:15 p.m.
A woman and her dog were hit and killed when the dog ran into the road and the woman chased after it.
