Calibrate Your TV?
It's unfortunate but true that most TV buyers turn their new TV on for the first time and thereafter never touch the video controls. Years pass, and the TV's setup menus remain unused. Perhaps they're afraid of damaging something, or that they won't be able to return to the original settings if their results turn out to be wacky. That's an unnecessary fear; all of the TVs I know of offer a menu selection that can return the set to its factory default settings.
