Munna Qureshi, a rat-hole miner from Delhi, was the first one to reach the other side where the workers were trapped. The rat-hole miners manually burrowed through the remaining 10-12 metres of rubble and paved the way for freedom for the 41 trapped workers.
We are near a breakthrough but not yet there. Manual work has carried on and we have reached 58 metres. Our rat miners, experts and Army engineers have been able to take it to 58 metres and the pipe has been pushed with the help of the auger machine, says NDMA member.
