German diplomat Uwe Herbert Hahn allegedly fled from Rio de Janeiro to Frankfurt on Sunday, a day before prosecutors indicted him for the murder of Walter Biot, his Belgian husband of 23 years.
Rio de Janeiro Judge Rosa Helena Macedo Guita from the 2nd Criminal Court Friday ordered the release of German Consul Uwe Herbert Hahn from custody after he had been arrested earlier this month in connection with his Belgian husband's death in fudgy circumstances.
German consul Uwe H. was arrested by Brazilian police on suspicion of killing his husband and trying to cover up the alleged crime. Authorities said the victim, a Belgian national, had been severely beaten first.
