Samarkand is hosting the tenth meeting of Belarus-Uzbekistan joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation. The parties are expected to discuss the state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation. In particular, the meeting participants plan to focus on industry, agriculture and healthcare.
Belarus and Uzbekistan have everything in place to scale up cooperation in industry, Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said as he met with Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, BelTA reports.
The heads of delegations participating in the meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council are scheduled to meet with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov.
Roman Golovchenko said: “I am glad to meet with you and talk over the development of our relations in detail. Results of trade and economic cooperation are truly good. We've raised trade turnover beyond $0.5 billion. Absolutely all the conditions for doubling the figure are available. Mutual trade is balanced."
Roman Golovchenko said: “We have to organize a forum of regions. It is truly a very good and fruitful platform. We have lengthy experience of working with the Russian Federation in this format. The results are self-explanatory.”
