Earthquake Strikes Near Shreveport The United States Geological Survey is reporting a magnitude 3.0 earthquake in northwestern Louisiana. According to the USGS, that earthquake struck at 2:26 a.m. The quake's epicenter was located in a nature park about three miles west of the town of Blanchard. Lafayette Man Sentenced in Drug Trafficking Case A Lafayette man will serve 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. According to the United States Attorney's Office in Lafayette, Ransom White was a supplier for other meth dealers. Prosecutors said White would buy meth in one-pound vegetable cans and then pass the drugs on to other defendants in the case to sell.
