Hong Kong: Health chief attends WHO meeting
Annual heat-induced work hours losses are expected to increase by 120 percent by the end of the century in the country, study estimates.
<p>In a paper published in <em>Science Bulletin</em>, a Chinese research team found that climate change will exacerbate heat-related labor losses in China, even with a reduced working population in the future. Stringent mitigation policies are therefore needed for protecting occupational health and work capacity in China.</p>
<p>Record-breaking heatwave in North China in June has been linked to human-induced climate change. A new paper, published in IOP Publishing’s journal Environmental Research Letters, explores the extent to which such extreme heatwave events can be attributed to human induced climate change and how frequent and intense such strong heatwave events will be in the future. </p>
