It was reported a few days ago that Tata Group had delayed the variable payout for C3A, C3B, C4, and equivalent grades by a month.

Software majors like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Wipro also recently announced that they have deferred, postponed, or reduced the variable payout to employees for the first quarter of the financial year 2023.

As far as TCS is concerned, the variable pay was delayed not due to any major reasons and surely not to cut the costs of the company. It was also reported that, TCS will pay all the compensations as per plan, only the variable pay has been delayed. The main reason for the delay is reported as the delay in the evaluation process of a massive size of work force. The company also claimed that, just a small portion of employees are yet to receive their variables and most of them are settled.

Wipro said there were no changes in salary increase and hikes will be effective from September. The tech firm said it has completed its first cycle of quarterly promotions but did not comment on the variable pay that was rolled out to its employees
