The Australian Reptile Park in Sydney is celebrating the delivery of a funnel web spider sac – and before summer hits, they need even more.

"The Eastern brown snake is one of the world's most venomous snakes," an expert in serpents told Newsweek.

"I grabbed the nearest thing in the shed, which was a garden hose, and I scooped up the snake and flung it back out to where it had come from," the man said.

New research conclude that snakes use hearing to help them interpret their world and dispel that they are deaf to airborne sound.

Snakes don’t have external ears but that doesn’t mean they cannot hear. In fact, a new study put out by the University of Queensland asserts that snakes can hear and do react to airborne sounds, in addition to hearing via ground vibrations.
