‘Effective mechanism in place to prevent Indian migrants’ Daily News (via HT Media Ltd.) The Sri Lanka Navy yesterday said a comprehensive mechanism will be in place to prevent Indians from entering the country on boats. According to Navy commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugethenna, the Navy will investigate how four Indians came to Sri Lanka on a boat on Friday evening. He said that special Naval team has been deployed to arrest the illegal migrants from India as there is possibility of Indians migrating to Sri Lanka on small boats The team will cover sea area from Mannar to Jaffna. Naval craft and boats will also be deployed in the area, he said.
