Vicky Abiria aged 34 appeared before Grade One Magistrate at Kira Court and pleaded guilty to maliciously administering poison with intent to injure or annoy (administered urine contrary to section 221(b) and doing an act likely to spread an infectious disease contrary to section 171 of the Penal Code Act). “The plea of guilty was entered and police investigations were done. You are, therefore, convicted and sentenced to prison for four years and six months. Each charge is four years and six months,” Magistrate Joan Achiro ruled. ....

Vicky Abiria reportedly confessed to the inhumane act after she was confronted by the baby’s mother, Hope Chicha. Hope told the police that she got suspicious after noticing that Abira had kept the baby’s bottle packed with urine in her bedroom. Following the discovery, Chicha took the baby for a check-up only to discover that her daughter has been infected with syphilis. “I found my baby’s bottle full of urine and when I asked her she confessed that she was feeding my baby with her urine,” Hope said. ....
