Two Cape Breton Regional Police officers have been disciplined for the way they handled the arrest of Christopher Garnier on allegations he breached release conditions while awaiting trial for the death off an off-duty police officer.
The province’s Police Review Board is hearing an appeal today on a decision made by Cape Breton Regional Police about a public complaint. Vince Garnier filed the complaint. He’s the father of Chris Garnier. The younger Garner was convicted of second-degree murder and interfering with a dead body in the 2015 death of Catherine Campbell in Halifax. He later appealed the conviction, but the appeal was dismissed in July. The hearing is scheduled to start at 9:30 this morning at the Holiday Inn in Sydney. Currently On-Air:
