Bangladeshi artistes and humanitarian activists have come together under the platform Artists Against Genocide to protest the ongoing genocide in Gaza. This fundraising concert titled “To Gaza From Dhaka” will be held at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater on November 24.
On Friday, over 5,000 audiences attended "The School of Rock Volume 1" concert at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), where eight bands headlined by James of Nagar Baul kept the audience at their feet.
The concert will showcase a total of eight bands, including Warfaze, Avoidrafa, Shonar Bangla Circus, Karnival, Aftermath, Plasmic Knock and AK Rahul. But that’s not all! The biggest attraction of this concert will be the living legend Mahfuz Anam James. Affectionately called ‘Guru’ by his fans, James will enchant the crowd with a set list filled with his biggest hits.
In a city where most youth are confined to social circle jerks of restaurants and malls; these concerts are much-needed injections of life. Whilst there is a risk of fatigue and overuse, as it is with any industry, it is important that organisers persevere and stick to what makes them unique.
