ABC 10/CW5 An Upper Peninsula man was arrested on gun and drug charges on Saturday. Michigan State Police Troopers from the Wakefield Post arrested the Ironwood man following a domestic violence complaint. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm and assault. Police say additional evidence shows the suspect was also running a drug house. The suspect was lodged in the Gogebic County Jail pending arraignment.  The investigation is ongoing.

Mar 6, 2021 ONTONAGON — A 31-year-old male from Rockland and a 29-year-old male from White Pine were arrested Wednesday by detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a 20-year felony. BESSEMER TOWNSHIP, MI--   Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post are investigating a three-vehicle crash in Bessemer Township Friday. Troopers say it happened around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Powderhorn Road and US-2. They say the driver of a Nissan Altima—identified as Cameron Crawford, 26, of Anoka, Minnesota—disregarded the stop sign on Powderhorn Road. ONTONAGON, MI--   An Ontonagon County man has been arrested for first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at his home Wednesday and arrested the 42-year-old around 7:45 p.m. The suspect remains lodged at the Ontonagon County Jail, awaiting arraignment in 98th District Court. WAKEFIELD, MI--   Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post are telling drivers to slow down. Troopers say in the past week two different motorists were caught on US-2 between Watersmeet and Wakefield traveling at high rates of speed. One vehicle was clocked at 101 miles per hour and the other at 99 miles per hour. Officers say it hasn’t been a major issue, but has increasingly been seen across the state and country since last year.
