A Kanawha County Sheriff's deputy was shot early on Feb. 29, 2024, following a pursuit of a man in Sissonville. The deputy was transported to CAMC General in Charleston an is in stable condtion, according to the Sheriff's Office. Police said the deputy was involved in a pursuit at 1:11 a.m. Thursday morning on Walker Drive in Sissonville when the suspect, identified by police as Nathan Oxley, 43, of Sissonville, turned his vehicle from Walker Drive onto Applehill Lane before stopping at the end of the roadway.
