The wildfires in Eastland and Brown counties — the Eastland Complex fires — did not grow between Tuesday and Wednesday, with cloud cover Tuesday helping to reduce the threat of fire spreading.
Ramsey Fire 60% contained after torching 1,800 acres
While wildfires continued to burn Monday in Eastland and Brown counties, local and state agencies and volunteers are assessing damages and marshaling resources to aide those who lost houses and property.
The blazes, known collectively as the Eastland Complex fires, have killed at least one person, destroyed more than 140 structures and burned around 50,000 acres of dry and windy West Texas landscape.
