Up to 137mm of rain has fallen in parts of the Sunshine Coast as a coastal trough draws in high rainfall totals. Caloundra has recorded 120mm in the last 24 hours to midday, while Bells Creek South has seen 137mm of falls. Localised flooding in Sandgate and Carseldine has been caused by up to 78mm falling nearby in Kippa Ring. There is water over Gympie Rd at Carseldine and over Sandgate Rd in Boondall while Wappa Dam on the Sunshine Coast is flowing over after reaching 101.2 per cent capacity. ....

The incredible find at Wappa Falls near Yandina came as the divers had to just feel their way in the murky depths, dodging eel-tailed catfish and shrimp along the way. The camera recovery came just hours after the Sunshine Coast recorded about 136mm of rain overnight. Mr Abbott from Broken Head in New South Wales was at the falls on Friday afternoon when he tossed the camera a short distance to friend Karl Lacis, of Ninderry. ....
Heavy rain is expected to continue through the weekend with showers predicted to peak again overnight, the weather bureau said. The Sunshine Coast has been hit with heavy rainfall with some areas recording up to 137mm of rain since Friday. Forecaster Peter Markworth said widespread rain was set to continue across the long weekend until conditions start to ease on Tuesday. We re expecting these showers to continue throughout the day with the rain peaking again overnight, he said. Across the Coast some of the largest totals have been recorded in Bells Creek (137mm), Palmview (116mm), Caloundra (120mm), Bundilla (114mm), Doonan (90mm), Maroochydore (85mm) and Tewantin (64mm) in the past 24 hours. ....
