Wareham to lower the flag in honor of Dennis Damata, David Wahlstrom Wicked Local WAREHAM – Wareham Selectmen voted unanimously to lower town flags for three days – the maximum allowed – to honor former police officer and selectman Dennis Damata and firefighter David Wahlstrom who both passed away last week. Jan 24, 2021 The Onset Fire Department extinguished a structure fire at a home at 6 Pearl Ave. on Jan. 24. Just after 2 p.m., the department received calls about a fire. An occupant of the home was able to temporarily keep the fire in check on a rear exterior wall by using a garden hose. Back-up quickly arrived, and the fire was brought under control by crews using one hose line.
