As the weather gets colder, Puget Sound Energy’s (PSE) community team set out to help make winter a little warmer across the communities PSE serves. Through PSE’s 2023 Warm Winter campaign, 75 nonprofits spanning 10 counties received contributions totaling $200,000. See the complete list here.

Looking at data over the winter months – December, January and February – the nights are getting warmer in Boston. In fact, on average, there are 15 fewer nights when the temperature drops below 28 degrees than there were just 20 years ago.
At present, the El Nino condition — the warmer than usual sea surface temperatures recorded over the equatorial Pacific Ocean — is inching to its peak. As per the recent observations, the Nino 3.4 region remained 2.4 degrees Celsius above the threshold, he said.
