A series of free beach sessions are being made available on the Isle of Wight during Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week for children affected by the pandemic. TWO teenagers braved freezing temperatures to complete a channel swimming challenge for charity. Daisy Kempston, 15 and Ava Bromfield 14, from Hove swam an average of two kilometres a day across nine days to reach their target distance of 33.8km – the equivalent of The English Channel. AN “INSPIRING” former journalist has received an award for his work with a children’s charity. Scott Roberts, who works for Barnardo’s, was named on a list of people who “really stepped up and helped their organisations face the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic”.
