A child-sex offender was captured Thursday night after escaping from a St. Louis County hospital and causing a manhunt that transfixed much of the region.
Tommy Wayne Boyd, a convicted child sex offender serving a 30-year prison sentence, has been captured several hours after walking out of a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, authorities said.
The inmate was transferred from a correctional facility to the hospital where he escaped while under the supervision of Missouri Department of Corrections officers.
CCTV showed a convicted child sex offender escaping a Missouri hospital in the early hours of Thursday, 21 September after receiving treatment, prompting a manhunt. Tommy Wayne Boyd, 45, who is serving a 30-year sentence at Potosi Correctional Facility for enticement of a child, was filmed on CCTV leaving Mercy Hospital South on foot “travelling in an unknown direction,” according to St Louis County police.
