Father of three stashed stolen bike as a gift for his son
The court heard he would not say how the bike came into his possession and he denied knowing it was stolen. Mr Beamish sought restitution regarding the decrease in value since the motorbike, even though it was returned, could not be sold at the same price. However Magistrate Damien Dwyer said they could chase that through the civil court. Stavrow pleaded guilty to illegally possessing the motorcycle with intent to deprive, and failing to appear in court. The court heard a warrant had to be issued for the 48 year old’s arrest and he has since spent 10 days in the watch-house.
