Development here. that is the egyptians are bristling at the suggestion that president obama, remember when president obama suggested that president mubarak not run for office again. they are bristling at that suggestion. in fact, a senior egyptian official called and said that they have serious problems with what he called the spin out of the obama administration, that that should happen. he said that mubarak didn t cave to obama. that it was his decision, mubarak s decision. he did it for the good of the egyptian people. he said this transition shouldn t be rushed. the transition process should take its time. now what you have at this point is a diametrically opposed view on the part of the egyptians and this administration which is saying this transition should happen right now. jill, i understand you ve been talking to egyptian officials as well. ....

Me by surprise. every single egyptian that i ve been talking to, whether they are pro or anti, is stunned and shocked at what is happening here in the heart of cairo. this has turned into a capital that few egyptians, anyone who has been here, can hardly even recognize. a few nights ago we were driving around and coming across a number of these civilian checkpoints and roads that pavi points and roads blocked off with garbage cans, with sticks, branches, trunks of trees. i remember thinking to myself, this looks exactly like baghdad when the sectarian violence was breaking out, and people were just taking security of their own neighborhoods into their own hands, trying to block road bombs. most egyptians i m talking to are saying we can t believe our country has turned into something of a pseudo war zone, even though it s only confined to this one particular square, tahrir square, the impact is being felt everywhere. wolf, earlier today i was ....
