The new temporary public toilets have been delivered to the town and will be plumbed and up and running in a matter of weeks.

A BLOCK of new public toilets, which will be fully accessible to the disabled, will be opening in Northwich town centre in the coming weeks. The facility, which will be located on the site of the outdoor space, will not be a permanent feature, but will be there until the wider development of Weaver Square takes place. Speaking to the Guardian, Cllr Kate Cernik, who has been involved in the scheme along with fellow councillors Sam Naylor and Andrew Cooper, said the town had desperately needed to replace the toilets lost when fire ripped through the old market back in January last year.

The planning application relates to The WOW Shop at 15 Market Street. An application form submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council seeks permission for a change of use on the ground floor of the premises only from retail to a wine bar. The balloon and party accessories business continues to operate from the first floor of the building. THE Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) has outlined a series of projects that it plans to deliver in 2021 alongside key partners to boost the town and its businesses. Many initiatives were understandably put on hold last year and, by collaborating with a number of town centre organisations, the BID wants to inject some positivity and hope into Northwich as restrictions ease over spring.
