The 35-year-old man found guilty in the April 2022 hit-and-run death of renowned conductor Boris Brott, 78, will serve nearly eight years in prison after getting credit for time served, a judge told a sentencing hearing on Thursday in Hamilton.
Arsenije Lojovic, the driver who hit and killed Hamilton conductor Boris Brott on April 5, 2022, has been found guilty of several charges, including dangerous driving causing death and fail to remain causing death.
Court heard Wednesday from several witnesses who saw a black Volkswagen being driven erratically, including a contractor, a bus driver and a local resident. It also heard from the Hamilton police officers who tried to immobilize the car by crashing into it, after the driver had hit Brott, killing him.
