2020 has been a strange year for all of us - but nobody expected the year to end with a proliferation of big cat sightings in North Wales. That is nobody except Puma Watch North Wales, a group set up to log and raise awareness of big cat sightings in the region. Footage of a cat-like creature was captured by Toby Matthews in Pontybodkin in November this year There have been reports of big cat sightings in North Wales since at lease the 1970s, with areas like the Clwydian Hills and Snowdonia believed to be a suitable habitat for a small population of pumas or other big cats.
A MYSTERIOUS creature believed to be roaming the countryside near Pontybodkin has been spotted again. A resident living close to the Wood Pit Nature Reserve between Pontybodkin and Llanfynydd, who wished to remain anonymous, submitted a report of the sighting to Puma Watch North Wales. They said they saw a cat-like creature "at least the size of a Welsh Springer Spaniel" running across a field on December 20 at 3.21pm. The witness report reads: "I was drying my hair in my mum's room, I happened to turn around and through the window that overlooks the field. I saw a cat shaped, however...
