Proposed solar farm in Lee County draws controversy for its location Unmute DIXON (WREX) — Lee County is no stranger to large-scale solar projects over the past couple of years. Within the past 24 months, the county green lit three solar farms that will cover 7,000 acres and generate enough energy to power 160,000 homes. None of those projects have broke ground, but are expected to be finished by 2024. However, a possible fourth site has drawn more pushback than it's previous projects.
