When officers responded to a security check at an apartment complex in the 400 block of Grand Avenue, they made contact with several people who were reportedly using narcotics and in possession of firearms. Officers recovered one stolen firearm from the subjects and a quantity of suspected narcotics that had been apparently packaged for sale. CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A Carbondale man has been arrested for firing shots at a home in Carbondale. According to Carbondale Police, Thomas Hudson, 56,  fired the shots at about 2:50 p.m. Monday at a home in the 300 block of West Cherry Street. Police say Hudson then fled the area on a bicycle. Officers were able to locate Hudson shortly thereafter. After initially refusing to comply with the officer’s commands, Hudson was taken into custody without further incident. CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Three people were shot Sunday at a party in Carbondale. It happened at about 2:45 a.m. at a vacant residence in the 300 block of West Cherry Street. According to a press release, responding Carbondale Police Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds. One victim’s injuries were considered to be serious and life-threatening. Officers called for an ambulance, but were told it’s arrival would be delayed due to other emergency calls. The seriously injured victim was then loaded into a pickup truck parked at the scene.
