Doctors tour Kootenays to warn parents about vaccinating kids

A suspended doctor and a few colleagues toured the Kootenays over the weekend to warn parents about the risks of vaccinating kids. Dr. Stephen Malthouse was joined by Dr. Sophia Bayfield and Dr. Kevin Sclater at speaking engagements in Nelson, Trail and Castlegar April 8 and 9 to explain that the risks of children under the age of 19 getting COVID-19 is “statistically zero”.

Nelson Hydro said that Granite Road residents, near Georama Road, and Balfour Golf Course are the latest to see power restored as crews continue to repair lines following Sunday’s massive windstorm.
Nelson Hydro said the Balfour Golf Course will have power restored by 7 p.m. Tuesday while 20 customers along Granite Road west of Georama Road will be able to cook dinner after power was restored this afternoon.
“Line crews are continuing their work in the Grohman area today and will be in that area until Friday,” Nelson Hydro said.

Nelson Hydro continues to clean up storm debris and restore power following a massive windstorm that rocked the West Kootenay region Sunday evening.
In a media release Monday, Nelson Hydro, with the assistance of additional contract and arborist crews, said outages continue for customers from Nelson to Coffee Creek.
"The damage on the North Shore from approximately 1600 Highway 3A at the Blaylock Estates out to the Six Mile area is more extensive," Nelson Hydro said.

Massive windstorm knocks out power to Nelson Hydro customers, forces closure of Highway 3A on North Shore

A surprise windstorm that swept through the West Kootenay Sunday evening knocked out power to most of Nelson Hydro customers and caused Highway 3A on the North Shore to be closed while crews dealt with several downed trees.
Nelson Hydro said on the City of Nelson Facebook page “Nelson Hydro is experiencing outages in multiple areas due to a wind event.”
The recording on Nelson Hydro phone message line said power was affected from Sproule Creek and Blewett west of Nelson to Queens Bay, north of Balfour.
