Chicago firefighters will gather for the second day in a row for the funeral of one of their own as they say goodbye to firefighter Jermaine Pelt.
Pelt, 49, died on April 4 while battling an extra-alarm fire in the West Pullman neighborhood. The funeral was held at at 11 a.m. Friday at House of Hope on East 114th Street.

Firefighter Jermaine Pelt’s funeral comes just one day after the city grieved another firefighter killed in the line of duty.
Lt. Jan Tchoryk, 55, was an outdoorsman and a Navy veteran who served in Desert Storm, fire officials said.
