A lawsuit claims that a UPS driver died in a June auto crash in Shelby County because an automotive firm improperly installed new tires on another delivery truck.
The suit was filed in July in Shelby County on behalf of the family of Gary Kukelhan, who died following an incident on June 10 on Shelby County Road 11, between County Road 334 and Wild Timber Parkway.
Kukelhan, 61, known as “Kuke,” was a 30-year veteran of UPS and about three months from retiring. In February 2019, Kukelhan was inducted into the UPS Circle of Honor, an honorary organization for UPS drivers who achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving.
