The fire has grown from eight to 40 hectares after it was discovered between Stone Creek and Dokkie Subdivisions at 3:42 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24th.
The BC Wildfire Service said the fire was estimated at 40 hectares in size, and burning near Highway 97 south of Chetwynd, and remains listed as "out of control."
Police and firefighters are going door-to-door telling people who live in the vicinity of a wildfire burning out of control near Chetwynd they need to evacuate.
