Two of the top teams in class 2A got together Tuesday night at Paul N. Bailey Field in Wellman when the No. 4 ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks hosted No. 7 Durant in a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawks won game one 5-4 while Durant earned a split taking the second contest 12-9. The Golden Hawk girls won the team championship with a score of 177, beating second place Williamsburg with 143. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team collected it’s 12th victory of the season in convincing fashion Monday, beating West Liberty for the second time in 48 hours 59-25. The Hawks would not trail on the night, opening the game on a 12-0 run, they led 17-4 after one quarter. They would use a 19-4 second quarter run to stretch the lead to 36-10 by halftime.
