Wildcats hoping experience leads to successful season

FRONT ROYAL — Warren County’s boys basketball team will be led by eight seniors this season.
The Wildcats have a strong nucleus of returners to rely on as they try to build off of last season.
“It’s always harder starting a month after you usually do (due to the COVID-19 pandemic),” coach John Kelly said. “Usually we’re into the first full week of our season at this point. But eight seniors coming back, that definitely helps our learning curve quite a bit. They’ve run the offense since they were freshmen.”
One of the main players the Wildcats will be relying on is senior Gabe Davis. The point guard was second in the area in scoring last year, averaging 17.5 points per game. He also averaged 3.7 assists and an area-best 4.8 steals per game.
