Reprieve for Mau forest evictees as Senator Moi promises help

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has assured 10,000 people evicted from Masai Mau Forest last year that the Government will address their plight.
Speaking at Longisa trading centre in Bomet yesterday, the Kanu chairman said he would engage the relevant ministries to have the issues addressed once and for all.
“Let s not speak about 2022 while we still have the issue of Mau at hand. I m here to assure you, the people will be assisted,” said Gideon after opening a Kanu office at Mulot Sunset.

Biwott  aka total man  died at  Nairobi Hospital, Personal Assistant William Chepkut  has confirmed.
Biwott served as a civil servant,Member of Parliament and government minister, during which time he held eight senior ministerial positions
Biwott was born in Chebior Village, Keiyo District, Rift Valley Province in 1940.
Biwott was a Member of Parliament for 28 years, having been first elected in 1974 as the MP for the Keiyo South Constituency until December 2007, when he lost his seat to Jackson Kiptanui arap Kamai of the Orange Democratic Party.
Biwott had however been ailing for some time and erroneous reports of his death were posted previously on social media. ....

President Uhuru Kenyatta has expressed concerns about rising political intolerance and ethnic tensions, saying the actions by a few politicians do not bode well for the nation.
“The arrogance we see today by some of the political leaders seeking to lead the country after I retire is worrying. It has raised many challenges and leaves me wondering what future this country has” said President Kenyatta.

The victory of Independent candidate Feisal Bader in the just concluded Msambweni by-election sent shockwaves in the political circles.
Bader floored ODM s Omar Boga who was touted to bag the seat fueling a growing trend of voters overlooking party affiliations to elect independent candidates at the expense of political party candidates who have well-oiled mobilisation machinery.
